William L. “Bill” Odom, Sr., age 92, born in Atmore, AL and a resident of the Phillipsville Community died Friday, September 15, 2023 at Saads Hospice in Mobile, AL. He was a lineman for Alabama Power and retired after thirty five years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines having served during Korea.
He is survived by his son William L. “Billy” Odom, Jr. of Phillipsville; a daughter; Patricia Ann Chambliss of Saraland; a sister; Viola Gafford of Lucedale, Mississippi;, two grandchildren, Theresa Messer of Saraland and John D. Chambliss Jr. of Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha L. Odom; one sister; Louise Lambert; four brothers, Joseph S. Odom, Jr., James Odom, Johnny Odom, and Raymond Odom and one grandson; William L. “Tra” Odom, III.
Graveside service and burial will be held Wednesday, September 20. 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in Bay Minette Cemetery with Reverend Dennis Daniel officiating.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Norris Funeral Home.
