William always helped in civic organizations, including Kiwansis and Stockton Civic Club. He was a vital part of the Bay Minette First Assembly soup kitchen, where he cooked and delivered warm meals every Monday for three years. He loved delivering the food and praying with those who would let him. He shared his gratefulness to God with everyone he met. He had such a giving heart and was always willing and ready to help anyone in need. He always said, “You can never out-give God.” He was a contractor with FEMA for more than twenty years, where he received a commendation by the government for his outstanding service to families in need. This enabled he and his family to travel to many new places while also getting to do something he loved. His wife, Glenda, was often his travel partner on these trips and together they traveled all over the United States. His favorite places to travel to were Maine and Wyoming. After retiring he loved working his farm, “Morris Farm” in Stockton, Alabama. He raised cattle and loved to share the farm with everyone. He and his family hosted many happy galas and even had the reality show, Sweet Home Alabama film there. He worked tirelessly to make sure that anyone who came to the farm felt the warmth and love that he showed to everyone. His life was a testimony filled with kindness and generosity. He will be greatly missed by so many but, his family is rejoicing in the fact that he is whole again and with his Lord and Savior.
