Willard Franklin Phillips, age 86, a native and resident of Stapleton, AL died Monday, August 19, 2024 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. He was a retired Millwright at J&J Construction.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel Taylor Phillips of Creola, AL; his children, Sheila D. (John) Veverka of Stapleton, AL, Randall E. (Kellie) Phillips of Stapleton, AL, Ronald “Chris” Phillips of Crossroads and Jeremy Wayne (Lisa) Phillips of Stapleton, AL; one brother, William (Lucille) Phillips of Stapleton, AL; two sisters, Rosie Marie Buck of Summerdale, AL and Vera Mae (Kyle) Wolff of Spanish Fort, AL; eleven grandchildren, John Jr., Jonathan, Travis (Scarlett), Tanya (Blake), Kendra, Randall Jr. “Randy” (Joy), Austin (Bailey), Justin, Courtney, Tyler and Carley; ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Glennis Jerkins Phillips; a son, Franklin Kevin Phillips; a brother, George Leon Phillips and his parents, Johnnie Franklin and Mary Ellen Cobb Phillips.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 23, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Reverend Jason Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Randy Phillips, Justin Phillips, Austin Phillips, Jonathan Bell, Travis Veverka and Tyler Phillips. Alternate pallbearers will be Michael Presley and Cameron Connell.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to ABBA Shrine Center Transportation Fund, 7701 Hitt Road, Mobile, AL 36695.
