Wendell E. Hall, age 81, born in Rabun and a resident of Bay Minette, AL died Sunday, January 19, 2020 at his residence. He worked in maintenance for the Baldwin County Board of Education. Mr. Hall was the first and only Fire Chief at Rabun Volunteer Fire Department since 1980.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Frankie Lou (Thomley) Hall of Rabun; his children, Debbie H. (Tony) Parker of Perdido, AL, Leon E. Hall of Rabun and Norris (Lydia) Hall of Bay Minette, AL; one sister, Jeanette Hadley of Rabun; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by five brothers.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Reverend James Peacock, Reverend Angelo Thomley, Ken Hall and Tony Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Bryars-McGill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 21, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Chris Pfeffer, Greg Hall, Kris Parker, Brandon Hyatt, Dustin Pfeffer, Ken Hall, Devon Pfeffer and Kipton Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Gopher McKinley, Marty Hadley, Jeremy McKissack, Web Bush and members of the Rabun Volunteer Fire Department.
