Wanda Ruth Humphrey Johnson, age 87, born in Uriah, AL and a resident of Stapleton, AL died Monday, December 30, 2024 at Mobile Infirmary. She retired from the Baldwin County Board of Education where she a bus driver and cafeteria worker. She was also a volunteer for the Red Cross. She loved to cook, bake and play guitar with her brother and sister-in-law.
She is survived by her children, Charles E. (Molly) Johnson of Stapleton, AL, Wanda Sue Crocker of Stapleton, AL, James Doyle Johnson of Stapleton, AL and Angelia (Jesse) Van Atta of Bay Minette, AL; two brothers, Hubert Humphrey and James Humphrey both of Stapleton, AL; one sister, Minnie Mae Knowles of Stapleton, AL and eleven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph C. Johnson; a brother, John Earl Humphrey and three grandchildren, Cheri Lynn Johnson, Samantha Mitchem and Sarah Jane Crocker.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Stapleton Church of God with Reverend J.P. Lambert officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends, Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service at Stapleton Church of God.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Johnson, Charlie Johnson, Greg Roberts, Wiatt Crocker, Judah Van Atta and Brandon Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Garrett Johnson and Gabe Stump.
