Thursia Long Obituary
Thursia Whidbee Long, age 94, born in Rabun, AL and a resident of Perdido, AL died Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Oakwood Nursing Home. She was a Pastor at Splinterhill Pentecostal Holiness Church for over 60 years.
She is survived by one daughter, Bettie G. (Gayland) Gillikin of Bay Minette, AL and two grandchildren, Chip (Melissa Peacock) Gillikin and Jason (Ryan) Gillikin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis J. Long; her parents, Benjamin Agee and Nora Elizabeth White Whidbee and siblings, Melzie B. Whidbee, Tomie C. Whidbee, Hammel W. Whidbee, Ellis J. Whidbee, Ray H. Whidbee, Lucille W. White and Ruth W. Barnett.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Reverend Fred White officiating. Burial will follow at Bryars – McGill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service at Norris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Roberts, Bryant Stewart, Ben Brown, Stevie Whidbee, Bart Barnette, Billy Roberts and Timmy Brooks.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Bryars – McGill Cemetery, c/o Sharon Shiver, 21457 Hoyle Bryars Road, Perdido, AL 36562.
