Thomas Edward “Tom” Henderson, age 87, born in Whatley, AL and a resident of Daphne, AL died Thursday, July 17, 2025. He was a retired Tug Boat Captain for Kirby Inland Marine. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army. A member of Perdido Church of God, Tom was a devoted Christian and follower of Christ.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Bryan) Crone of Spanish Fort, AL; grandchildren, Amaya Crone, Ava Crone and Ashton Crone; his son, Eddie (Susie) Knight of Grove Hill, AL; grandchildren, Chip Knight, Jason Knight and Shelby (Ken) Smith; his sister, Alice Jones of Walker Springs, AL; great grandchildren, Jacob Knight, Bryant Smith and Kole Smith and a devoted uncle to his nieces and nephews, Willie McArthur (Kelly) Shiver, Morna Shiver Tirona, Stephen Edward (Julie) Thompson and Erica Thompson (Tim) Davis.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Brunette Presley Henderson; brothers, Sam Howard Henderson, John Henderson, Jr. and Robert Lee Henderson and a sister, Betty Haddon.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 21, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Perdido Church of God with Reverend Scott Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Presley Cemetery in Nokomis, AL.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 21, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service at Perdido Church of God.
Pallbearers will be Louis Broughton, John Hingan, Bayley Shiver, Ashton Crone, Jean Naquin, Jim Armstrong and Will Shiver.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Perdido Church of God, 23287 County Road 61, Perdido, AL 36562.
