Thomas "Tom" Alfred Dorough, Sr.

Thomas Alfred “Tom” Dorough, Sr., age 79, born in Mobile, AL and a resident of Bay Minette, AL died Thursday, June 6, 2024 at his residence. He was a retired facility manager at First Baptist Church Bay Minette. He was also retired from the U.S. Marines having served during Vietnam where he was a purple heart recipient, received a national defense service medal and Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with PALM medal.

He is survived by his wife, Claudia Darlene Markham Dorough of Bay Minette, AL; his children, Tammy (Guy) Watkins of Tuscaloosa, AL, Scott (Mamik) Dorough of Willington, NC and Mandy (Dana) Landefeld of Silverhill, AL; two brothers, Ken (Julia) Dorough of Phillipsville and Jason Dorough of Foley, AL;  sisters, Jean Bryant of Mobile, AL and Judy (Junior) Uptain of Jasper, AL; seven grandchildren, Kylie (Josh) Fondren, Kiera Watkins, Rayden Dorough, Ethan Landefeld, Elianna Landefeld, Ensely Landefeld and Elijah Landefeld and one great grandchild, Mason Fondren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Alfred Dorough, Jr.; a brother, John William “Bill” Dorough, Jr.; a sister, Virginia Neidhardt and his parents, John William Dorough, Sr. and Mary Ruth Oswald Dorough.

Graveside services will be held Monday, June 17, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Alabama State Veterans Cemetery with Dr. Chip Starnes officiating.

A gathering of friends and family will be held Monday, June 17, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Norris Funeral Home.
