Sarah “SaSa” Hobby Barnes, age 76, of Andalusia, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones on March 8, 2026. She was born on December 26, 1949, in Mobile, Alabama.
Sarah was a loving, generous, and kind woman who devoted her life to her family. She loved deeply and cared for those around her unconditionally. Known for her gentle spirit and listening ear, Sarah was someone people trusted and confided in. She never judged and always offered comfort, wisdom, and love to anyone who needed it. Her family was the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Clay Hobby and Annie Mavis Hobby; her sister, Ann Hodges; her brother, Charles Hobby; and her husband, Ronnie Barnes.
Sarah leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her children, Angie (Shane) Watkins of Andalusia, Alabama; Clay (Mary) Johnston of Mobile, Alabama; and Donna Hutto of West Columbia, South Carolina.
She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Camp (Whitney) Campbell of Saraland, Alabama; Jacob (Ashley) Watkins of Opp, Alabama; Bobbie Watkins of Andalusia, Alabama; Kenady Watkins of Auburn, Alabama; Sophia Johnston of Mobile, Alabama; and Alyssa (Philip) Hutto of West Columbia, South Carolina.
Her legacy continues through her precious great-grandchildren, JT Watkins and Jenley Watkins.
Sarah also leaves behind special family members Karianne (Brandon) Barnes, Randy (Toni) Barnes, Scott (Jamie) Barnes, Dennis Werneth, Jason Werneth, and Hunter Barnes, along with several very special nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Graveside services and burial will be held Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Alabama State Veterans Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, March 12, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Norris Funeral Home.
Sarah’s kindness, strength, and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and friends.
