Sandra Ann "Sandy" Sakwa
Obituary
Sandra Ann Sakwa (Sandy), a longtime resident of Bay Minette, AL, passed away on March 14, 2023 at North Baldwin Infirmary.
Sandy was born on May 1, 1947 to Joseph and Louise Lorenzo of Franklin, Louisiana.
In 1974, Sandy married Sydney Sakwa and together they shared a life of love, adventure and kindness. Sydney, her soul mate, died in 2005.
Sandy is survived by her loving son Samuel Sakwa, daughter-in-law Michele Sakwa, Ashley Sakwa, granddaughter and her husband Jack Nichols, Dalton Sakwa Nichols, great-granddaughter ,and Alexander Bees Nichols, great-grandson.
Sandy came from a family of twelve and is survived by siblings Brenda Boudreaux, Linda Scully, Sarah Krilla, Michael, Gary, Ricky and Mark Lorenzo. Sandy was preceded by Beverly Lorenzo, Caroline Sauce, Cheryl Lorenzo and Joseph Lorenzo, Jr.
Sandy was a volunteer at North Baldwin Infirmary for over 14 years, the Bay Minette Senior Center and various church and civic groups.
There will be a Memorial Service in honor of Sandy Sakwa at Higher Ground Baptist Church, 2205 Hand Avenue, Bay Minette, AL on March 26, 2023 at 6pm (CDT). In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to Higher Ground Baptist Church.
