Ruth Alene (Weekley) Sims

Ruth Alene Weekley Sims, age 93, born in the New Life Community to William Filmore and Rebecca Pearl Godwin Weekley and a resident of Rabun died Friday, November 14, 2025 at her residence. She was retired from the Baldwin County Board of Education after 25 years as a bus driver.

She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Wilson Sims of Rabun; her children, Pamela Ann Sims Richerson of Rabun, Nancy Arlene Sims (Ricky) Pfeffer of Rabun and Wilson Alonzo (Dee) Sims of Rabun; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Sims of Rabun; grandchildren, Marcus Dean, Tommy Wayne Richerson, Pamela Ruth Ganey, James Alonzo Sims, Sommer Kay Sims Moore, Triston Harville and Macaila Louise Sims and eighteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Charles Ancil Sims; daughter-in-law, Janice Sims and son-in-law, Johnny Richerson.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 16, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at New Providence Baptist Church with Reverend James Boyd and Reverend Henry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at New Providence Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. service at New Providence Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be James Godwin, Lonnie Thompson, Warren Thompson, Trey Smith, Ronnie Moorer and Triston Harville. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Randolph, David Little and Danny Thomas.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to New Providence Baptist Church, 52700 Rabun Road, Bay Minette, AL 36507.
