Ruby (Avritt) Vinson

Ruby Avritt Vinson, age 74, born in Thomasville, AL and a resident of Bay Minette, AL died Sunday, May 8, 2022 in Brandon, MS. She was a retired Deputy Sheriff and Corrections Officer for the Baldwin County Sheriff Department.

She is survived by her children, Teressa Gwen Sims of Bay Minette, AL, Terry Glen (Zandra) Williams of Loxley, AL, Shannon Raphael (Sandra) Vinson of Bay Minette, AL, Daryl Dwayne (Julie) Bryars of Bay Minette, AL, Terenia Rosa Rochelle (Randy) Smith of Brandon, MS, Carnelia Marie Brown of Sarasota, FL and George Trent (Candice) Williams of Bay Minette, AL; her siblings, Alice Faye Champion of Daphne, AL, Lizzie Jane Goodman of Grovehill, AL, Lucy Reinhart of Fairhope, AL, Mary Ellen Gandy of Lillian, AL, Robert Eugene Avritt of Point Clear and Buddy Avritt of FL; sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Wesley and Nellie Jane Avritt; her husband, Marshall Raphael Vinson; a grandson, George Trent Williams, Jr. and seven brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. There will be a gathering at 17501 Old Brady Road, Bay Minette, AL 36507 after the service.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 11, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Home.
