Ross Ivans Brown, age 74, born in Summerdale, AL and a resident of the Phillipsville Community died Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Thomas Hospital. He retired from Pensacola Naval Air station as a tool handler, and a truck driver for U.S Postal Service. He was a veteran of the U.S Navy and Army National Guard having served in Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Stacy Brown of Phillipsville; his children, Diana Leatrece Brown (Tim) McCullough of Phillipsville and Kylie Marie Brown (Darin) Thompson of Phillipsville; two sisters; Gladys Olean Fackler of Robertsdale and Juanita Burgett of Summerdale; six grandchildren, Cecily Blayre (Travis) Tillmon of Foley, Kane Andrew (Ellisa) Johnson of Washington State, Timothy Brice McCullough of Phillipsville, Braxton Lee Johnson, Rayna Bree Thompson, Addyson Claire Thompson all of Phillipsville; one great grandchild, Melody Annette Tillmon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 8, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Sister Helen Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, September 8, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service time.
