Rodolfo "Rudy" Hernandez

We are deeply saddened to announce the death of Rudy Hernandez. Rudy died peacefully in his sleep November 27, 2023 at the age of 69.

Rudy was born on March 14,1954. He grew up in Manila, Philippines. He graduated from FEUNRMF BATCH 1978 with the degree of Doctor of Medicine. In 1995 he raised his family in Bay Minette, Alabama.

In 1989 he married Dr. Honey May Getubig. Since then they never once left each other’s side. They worked alongside each other, drove countless road trips together, and always held hands while crossing the street. Rudy was a patient and understanding husband, a gifted pianist and joking, loving father that provided his family with home-cooked meals.

He is survived by his wife Dr. Honey May Getubig of Bay Minette, AL; his children, Hazel (Josh) Wilson of Forked River, NJ, Stacy (Richard) Hawkins of Petaluma CA, Shannon (Kurt) Laughary of Trevor, WI, Rhodia (Alaina) Hernandez of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Leia Wilson, Zachary Wilson, Cal Hawkins, Brannan Hawkins, Ethan Laughary, Edwin Laughary, Emma Laughary; brothers Edgar (Evelina) Hernandez of Bay Minette, AL, Manny Hernandez of Las Vegas, NV, Bong (John Korthuis) Hernandez of Manila, Philippines and sister Beth (Bill) Clark of Atlanta, GA

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Dr. Henry Cox officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service at Norris Funeral Home. All are welcome to attend.
