Robert Dalton Jones, age 81, passed away Friday, June 26, 2026, at home. He was a powerplant operator for Monsanto for 40 plus years, retired at grade M12. Robert was born in McKinzie, AL on November 3, 1944, and was a lifelong resident of the Phillipsville Community.
Robert was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He cherished his family and lifelong friends. He loved fishing, gardening, and woodworking.
Robert is survived by his Uncle Roland Cramer and Uncle Claude Earlin (Dink) Jones, Aunt Louise (Jones) Bolton, sister Sheila (Jones) Smith, his sons Gene (Jackie) Milstid of Molino, FL and William (Lanell) Jones of San Tan Valley, AZ; his grandchildren Melissa (Travis) Hicks, Rebecca (Zach) Moorer, Jonathan (Danae) Jones, Nathaniel Jones and Katherine Jones; his great grandchildren Keira Hicks, Keith Hicks, Madison Glatfelter, Amanda Garcia, Rachel (Brent) Nix, Carrie (Morgan) Witt, and his great, great grandchildren Alice Nix, Remington Nix, Everly Nix, Alene Glatfelter and Sunnie Witt and many special nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents James Crawford and Racheal Naomi (Crum) Jones, his wife of 54 years Nona Pearl (Dempsey) Jones, and brothers William David Jones and Tommy (Karen) Jones.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Norris Funeral Home in Bay Minette with Donald Roley officiating. Visitation will be at 10am followed by funeral service at 11am. Burial to follow at the Bay Minette Cemetery.
