Robert Wayne "Gopher" Godwin

Robert Wayne “Gopher” Godwin, age 81, born in Mobile, AL and a resident of Bay Minette, AL died Monday, December 1, 2025 at his residence. He retired as a truck driver after 25 years for Bowman Transportation.

He is survived by his children, Angela Godwin (Kevin) Waters of Crossroads, Lawanda Lynn (Calvin) Hooks of Bromley, Lisa Ann Hooks of Atmore, AL and Nina Lambeth of Rabun; three sisters, Betty Sarhan of Mobile, AL, Johnnie Ann Catrett of Bay Minette, AL and Madeline Smith of Bay Minette, AL; grandchildren, Cameron, Cole and Roman Waters, Thomas Godwin, Jonathan, Christopher, Tessa, and Kyle Hooks, Bayleigh Whatley and Hollin Lambeth and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Benjamin and Wilma Louise Catrette.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church with Reverend Randal Short and Mark Sarhan officiating. Burial will follow at Richerson Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until the 12:00 p.m. service at Lighthouse Tabernacle Church.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Godwin, Cameron Waters, Jonathan Hooks, Christopher Hooks, James Sarhan and Thoams Sarhan. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Sarhan and Roman Waters.
