Richard Lamar Dorman, age 84, born in Clark County, AL and a resident of Bay Minette, AL died Monday, November 24, 2025. He was a retired contractor in the Oil Field. Richard graduated Baldwin Conty High School in 1959. He loved his horse Dreamer, his dog Duchess, Alabama football, tinkering with outdoor equipment, arrowhead hunting, carving and making arrowheads, metal detecting and storytelling.
He is survived by his son, Randy (Julie) Dorman; his daughter, Cynthia Lynn “Cindy” Redmon; stepdaughters, Anna (Tim) Clark and Lacey Vinson; grandchildren, Trace Jowers, Jenny (Jaxon) Gulsby, Lauren (Matthias) Faehnrich, Sarah Redmon, Lydia Redmon, Nicholas Dorman, Jessica Dorman, Jake Shiver, Makayla Shiver, Gracie Clark, Addy Clark, Lane Vinson, Leighann Vinson and Emry Stewart; great grandchildren, Elliott Faehnrich, Ryker Mullin and Reid Shiver and numerous nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vaiden Dorman and Mattie Viona Overstreet Dorman; a brother, Arnold Lee Dorman; sisters, Ruby Dean (Alton) Peacock and Linda Sue (David) Daw and his fiancé, Janice W. Corbitt.
Graveside services and burial will be held Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Bay Minette Cemetery with Chaplain Rickey Tedder officiating.
Pallbearers will be Trace Jowers, Jake Shiver, Matthias Faehnrich, Jackson Gulsby, Tim Clark and Jason Redmon.
