Ralphine (Driskell) Smit

Ralphine Driskell Smit, a native of Jackson, AL, passed away on August 5, 2025, in Moulton, AL. A longtime resident of Bay Minette, Mrs. Smit was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Henry Smit, and her parents, Alfred Owen Driskell and Lois Griffin Driskell, brothers John Owen Driskell, Cleiland (Lucy) Driskell, Dwayne (Esther) Driskell, and sister Elizabeth (JL) Newsome. She is survived by her children, Michael (Tina) Paul, Rhonda (Steve) Selby, and Danny (Amy-fiancé) Smit.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Gavin Travis Paul, Austin (Shawna) Selby, Preston (Jessica) Selby, Shannon Selby, Hillary (Chaker) Fares, Kacey (Steve) Maltez, Michaela (Brandon) Baker, Daniel Smit, and Emrys Madelyn (Langley) Coleman, 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A family visitation will be held Sunday, August 31, 2025 at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Bay Minette, with friends joining at 1:15. A funeral service will follow in the church sanctuary at 2:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at Bay Minette Cemetery following the service.
