Rachel Irene (Burkett) Grdjan

Rachel Irene Burkett Grdjan, age 90, born in Plum County, PA and a resident of Daphne, AL died Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Eastern Shore Health and Rehab. She was a retired retail supervisor.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Grdjan (Steve) Middleton of Daphne, AL and Lori Grdjan (Marvin) Corey of Lottie; six grandchildren, Nicole Lilly, Amber Corley, Kristen Middleton, Bridgette Connell, Chris Grdjan and Randy Grdjan and ten great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Blasé “Bud” Grdjan; a son, Robert “Bobby” Grdjan and her siblings, Sonny Ball, George Burkett, Joseph Thomas Burkett, Paul Burkett William Burkett, Charles Burkett, Dorothy Twardsky, Anna Soosbee and Margaret Yanos.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 11, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Chaplain Joe Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow at Bryars – McGill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday, August 11, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. service at Norris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Chris Grdjan, Randy Grdjan, Jason Connell, Cameron Connell, Joe Pimperl, David Pimperl and James Pimperl. Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Corley and Steve Middleton.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
