Myrtle Jeanette (Stewart) Cushion

Myrtle Jeanette Stewart Cushion, age 89, born in the Rabun Community and a resident of Stockton, AL died Sunday, August 17, 2025 at her residence. She was a retired from the Baldwin County Board of Education where she worked in the cafeteria at Bay Minette Elementary.

She is survived by her children, Walter (Shelia) Cushion, Dallas (Elaine) Cushion and Lydia Cushion (Kelly) Lyles all of Stockton, AL; two sisters, Viola Hadley of Rabun and Nancy Daniels of Bay Minette, AL; seven grandchildren, Thomas, Icey, Kimberly, Jermiah, Crystal, Jessica and Kenneth; seventeen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Burl Cushion.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Reverend Eric Cutshall and Sister Louise Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Richerson Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 20, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service at Norris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Neil McMillan, Thomas Brown, Cory Jarman, Marsden Cox, Larry Hadley, Austin Cushion, Gage Brown and Mark Brannan, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Stockton Methodist Church, 53370 State Highway 59, Stockton, AL 36579.
