Mona Jean Norton Pritchett, age 80, currently of Fairhope, AL, passed away peacefully in the early hours of August 18, 2024, after a prolonged battle with dementia.
Born on February 5, 1944, in Memphis, TN she was the daughter of Thomas Berry Norton, MD and Jean Johnson Norton. She was raised in York, AL and graduated from Sumter County High School, Livingston University with a degree in English, and Peabody College at Vanderbilt University with a Master of Library Science. She served as the reference librarian at Meridian Community College in Meridian, MS from 1968 until her retirement in 1995. Following her retirement, she supported her daughter and grandchildren in Huntsville, AL fulfilling the roles of soccer mom, room mother, dance mom, and faithful taxi and cheerleading service for her grandchildren in all their many activities.
She is survived by her daughter, Andrea Pritchett Rosler (Ken Ortlepp), and her grandchildren Edward Thomas Rosler and Amelia Desdamona Rosler, bonus grandson, Connor Hilbert, and step grandchildren Daniel Lewis Ortlepp and Sarah Elizabeth Ortlepp as well as her sister-in-law Kay Norton, and nephews, Thomas Dan Norton (Jennifer) and Walter Berry Norton (April). She is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Thomas B. Norton and her brother, Thomas B. Norton, Jr.
