Milton Wilson Obituary

Milton Costen Wilson, a conservative patriot and a lifelong resident of Bay Minette, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020, at a local hospital after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents’, John Rhonwin and Clara Costen Wilson, his brother John Wallace Wilson, and his wife of 59 years, Martha Amanda Wilson. Mr. Wilson graduated from the University of Alabama in 1957 where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. Although he was born in Brewton on November 9,1934, he spent almost his entire life as a resident of Bay Minette, his hometown that he truly loved. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Alabama football, politics, spending time with family, cooking, and attending Sunday school and church. As a career independent businessman, Mr. Wilson was involved in a variety of business ventures and real estate endeavors over his lifetime and also served as Baldwin County Tax Collector for a period in the early 1980’s.

His love of Bay Minette and its’ history was well known and he enjoyed sharing his deep knowledge with his family as well as his many lifelong friends. The family wishes to express its’ sincere appreciation to those friends for their companionship and support in Mr. Wilson’s later years. There is no doubt that his ability to remain active and engaged in life was a direct result of friends and family surrounding him with love and attention on a daily basis.

He is survived by three daughters, Mandy Miles (Wayne), Liz Wilson, Rachael Jackson (Les), seven grandchildren, Jason Miles, Emily Miles Boutwell (Derick), Martha Ann Miles Partin (Jeff), Justin Maxwell, Megan Maxwell, Joseph Rhonwin (JR) Holly (Ashley), and Carrie Lee Summers (Blake), and eleven great-grandchildren, Jake Boutwell, Ella Boutwell, Clara Jane Boutwell, Frances Boutwell, Amelia Partin, Sidney Partin, Fisher Croizer, Sawyer Croizer, Wilson Holly, Reese Holly, and Murphy Summers.
