Michael Andrew Peterson

Michael Andrew Peterson, age 76, born in Gateswood to Henry Elmer Peterson, Jr. and Philena Waters “Doll” Peterson and a resident of Bay Minette, AL died Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at North Baldwin Infirmary.

Mike graduated for Calhoun Engineering School in Baltimore, Maryland and had long and successful career as a chief engineer on ships. He traveled the world, and loved to tell about his experiences. He loved people and could start up a conversation with anyone.

Mike is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Johnson Peterson; a brother, David Peterson; two sisters, Linda P. (Mike) Johnson and Cathy Peterson; sister-in-law, Lynda J. (Fred) Little and his nephews, Michael (Theresa) Brabner, Stephen (Megan) Brabner, Brandon (Emily) Kernells and Matthew Little.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald S. Peterson and a nephew, Charles Edward “Chuck” Kernells.

A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.
