Mary Evelyn (Bond) Vickrey

Mary Evelyn Bond Vickrey, age 88, born in Garland, AL and a resident of Bay Minette, AL died Friday, September 17, 2021 at her daughter’s residence. She was a retired seamstress supervisor at Mannor Slacks. She was member of the Order of Eastern Star, Garland Chapter.

She is survived by her children, William Mansfield “Billy” (Traci) Vickrey, Jr. of Pine Grove, Cecil Alan (Vickie) Vickrey of Pine Grove, Lanny Lee (Shirlee) Vickrey of Pine Grove, Shelby Lynn (Faron) Presley of Bay Minette, AL and Vicki L. Vickrey of Pine Grove; one brother, William Thurston Bond of Panama City, FL; two sisters, Joyce Sullivan and Louise Johnson both of Winterhaven, FL; brothers-in-law, J.C. (Mary Frances) Vickrey and Elmer D. (Janice) Vickrey all of Garland, AL; sisters-in-law, Mary Vickrey Heron of Cary, IL and Rachel M. Vickrey of Red Level, AL; grandchildren, Derek, Brandon, Mason (Jessi), Bret (Chelsey), Christopher, Ashley, Lee, J.W., Lucas, Marcus, Faron II, Mary, Joie and Josh (Terra); twenty-one great grandchildren; bonus children, Kim (Frank) Mayo and Darlene Steele and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Thomas and Willie Mae Simmons Bond; her husband, William Mansfield Vickrey, Sr.; a grandson, Kevin W. Vickrey; two brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Grant Dykes officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday, September 20, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service at Pine Grove Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Derek Vickrey, Brandon Vickrey, Mason Vickrey, Bret Vickrey, Christopher Vickrey and Joshua Gideons. Honorary pallbearers will be Franklin “Pete” Bond, Faron Presley, II and Lane Milstead.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Kindred Hospice and nurses, Ashley Godwin, Ashley Whatley and Faith Strachan for the care of Mrs. Vickrey.
