Major Jason Plato

Major Jason Plato, age 84, born May 15, 1939 in Pine Grove, AL and a lifelong resident of Baldwin County died peacefully Thursday, February 15, 2024 at home surrounded by his family. He served seven years in the Alabama National Guard. He was a retired owner of Plato Construction, a member of the Bay Minette Masonic Lodge #498 and a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Linda Chambless Plato of Pine Grove; his children, Jeffrey (Laura) Plato of Daphne, AL, Jennifer (Donnie) Peckham of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Jason (Karen) Plato of Loxley, AL, Julie (Chris Caldwell) Plato of Madsion, AL, Jonathan (Tiffany) Plato of Robertsdale, AL, Jeremy Plato of North Carolina and Christy Plato of Loxley, AL; his siblings, Winnall Plato of White House Fork and Hazel Hawkins of Bay Minette, AL; thirteen grandchildren, Nicole Landeros, Ashley Singleton, Kaleigh Hornberger, Derek Plato, Kalyn Marshall, Kourtney Leonard, Kacee Raven, Hope Plato, Kady Bice, Kristen Plato, Sydney Plato, Cody Plato and Emily Plato; nine great grandchildren, Kenya Landeros, Irelyn Landeros, Allison Hornberger, Cooper Price, Sawyer Leonard, Finland Landeros, Flynn Boone, Rosilee Bice and Scarlet Marshall and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Fannie Plato; siblings, James Plato, Orrie Mae Taylor, Bernice Elliott, Lois Hopkins, Herman Plato, Frank Plato, Louise Carnley and Dottie Wilcox.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 19, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Bedford officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery with Masonic services.

The family will receive friends Monday, February 19, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. service at Pine Grove Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Derek Plato, Cody Plato, Randy Carnahan, Gerald Malone, Gary Rountree and Marvin Kelly.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pine Grove Baptist Church, 42240 Pine Grove Road, Bay Minette, AL 36507.
