Lester J. “Jimmie” Hinote, age 87, born in Coon, LA and a resident of Bay Minette, AL died Saturday, January 9, 2021. He attended the First Presbyterian Church of Bay Minette, AL.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy stationed aboard the USS Mississippi Experimental Aircraft Gunnery 128 Battleship. He was also the co-owner and operator of Hinote’s Gulf Service Station where he loved his customers and serving his community.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Stevens Hinote of 68 years; daughter, Renee (Ed) Matthews; son, Les (Barbara) Hinote; daughter, Debbie (Jesse) Bryars; daughter, Lori (Martin) Gibson; eleven grandchildren, Laura (Will) McCaw, Lucas (Renee) Hall, Jim (Logan) Hinote, Daniel Hinote, Traveis (Stefanie) Graham, Angel Hinote, Amy (Joe) Hill, Jessica (Larry) Witt, Kayla Bryars, Whitney (Cory) Harris and Cody (Page) Gibson; nineteen great grandchildren; one sister, Linda Vincent and one brother, John W. Hinote.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Ivy and Ruby Hinote.
A private graveside service to honor the life of Lester J. Hinote will be held.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Presbyterian Home for Children, P.O. Drawer 577, Talladega, AL 35161-9975.
