Larry "Lightnin" Edwin Owens

Larry “Lightnin” Edwin Owens, age 70, born in Chicago, IL and a resident of Bay Minette, AL passed away Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Sacred Heart Hospital after a valiant battle with cancer.

He found peace when surrounded by water and sitting on the front porch of his family home in Mississippi. He was the life of a thousand stories and known for his laughter that carried throughout the room.

He is survived by one son, Heath (Jessica) Hadley of Atmore, AL; his grandchildren, Laynee Hadley, Livie Hadley and Gatlin Hadley; brothers, Billy (Sherry) Owens and John (Carmen) Owens; sisters, Kathy (Mike) Eady and Kay (Danny) Hartley and many nieces, nephews and friends that will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William “Billy” Ownes and Kathryn Woodard Owens.

In honor of Larry’s wishes, there will be no service.
