Kenneth Neil Holcombe, age 90, born in Fort Payne, AL and a resident of the Pine Grove Community for 47 years died Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at North Baldwin Infirmary. He worked as a salesman in South Alabama for over 35 years. He retired from the Alabama State Employment Service. Ken was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served during Korean War and was a disabled veteran. He graduated Spring Hill College in Mobile in 1959 and was an active member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.
Ken was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and as a youngster trapped with his father and uncles. He and his wife Jean were married in 1951 in the state of Georgia. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this past November.
He is survived by his wife, Carlie Jean Lee Holcombe; his children, Neil (Carmen) Holcombe, Suzan Holcombe (Tommy) Bozeman and Margaret Holcombe (Brian) Sedlecky; four grandchildren, Brittney (Brent) Gladden, Jarrett (Lauren) Holcombe, Ashton Holcombe and Caden (Shannon) Bozeman; eight great grandchildren, Milly, Kinsley, Will, Griffin, Liam, Max, Pierce and Lane and his beloved caregivers, Stephanie Abrams and Elizabeth Turner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Harry Holcombe and Margaret Baugh Holcombe and a brother, Billy Baugh Holcombe.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 28, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Reverend Grant Dykes officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore.
The family will receive friends Friday, January 28, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service at Norris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jarrett Holcombe, Caden Bozeman, Eddie Crabtree, Gerald Malone, Mike Roberts and Robert Scarbrough.
