Kenneth Gerald "Kenny" Shiver

Kenneth Gerald “Kenny” Shiver, age 66, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026 in Pensacola FL surrounded by his family and the Holy Spirit.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, James and Jessie Ganey Shiver; a brother Larry Shiver, and grandson Kenneth Blane Shiver.

Kenny is survived by his children, Jerry (Melissa) Shiver, Jessica (Danny) Little, Jake (Kaitlyn) Shiver, and Makayla Shiver; grandchildren, Elizabeth Shiver, Meagan Shiver, Sarah Little, Ryker Mullin, and Reid Shiver; brothers Jimmy (Sharron) Shiver, Danny (Diane) Shiver, Rodger (Sharee) Shiver, Eddie (Sonia) Shiver, Joe (Tammy) Shiver, Bobby Joe (Marcia) Shiver and a hunting club full of nieces and nephews.

While Kenny started working young and worked most of his life, he was living his retirement to its fullest. If he wasn’t working on an engine in his yard for someone, he was at the hunting club. Whether he killed anything or not he always said, “but I had a good time tryin’!” Cookouts on the hunting club were always a favorite time for him and no one will ever make turnip greens as good as his. Some days he was babysitter and chauffeur. Some days he was company on a long road trip. But every day he was the best listener when you just needed someone to talk to. At the end of the day, when all of the work was done, you could find him reclined on the couch with his 4-legged children, Bo and Shay, watching a black and white western. Kenny loved deeply and will be missed by many. 

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 12, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Hall’s Fork Assembly of God with Reverend Windell Hadley officiating. Burial will follow at White Cemetery in Dyas.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 12, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. service at Hall’s Fork Assembly of God.

Pallbearers will be Levi Gill, JD Duddy, Nicholas Shiver, Braxton Shiver, Dustin Shiver and Cody Shiver.

The family is eternally grateful for the outpouring of love, prayer, and support.
