Kathy (McDonald) Smith

Kathy McDonald Smith, age 66, born in Bay Minette, AL and a resident of the Phillipsville Community, died Friday, March 13, 2020 at her residence. She was a retired registered nurse at North Baldwin Infirmary for 30 years.

She is survived by her husband, James E. Smith of Phillipsville; her children, Amy Thomas (Joe) Cofer of Montclair, VA, John Mark (Wanda) Byrne, II of Atmore, AL, Emily Byrne of Bay Minette, AL, Celeste Byrne (Trey) Floyd of Bay Minette, AL, Charlotte (Josh) Harlan of Spanish Fort, AL, Melissa (John) Billy of Robertsdale, AL and Sonny (Beck) Smith of Bay Minette, AL; her mother and father, Katherine and Jessie Killcreas of Stockton, AL;  two brothers, Randy (Alyson) McDonald of Bay Minette, AL and Sheldon Killcreas of Bay Minette, AL; four sisters, Penny (Glen) Bryant of Bay Minette, AL, Lisa (Matt) Dagen of Texas, Elizabeth Killcreas of Bay Minette, AL and Joy Lambert of Nokomis; twenty four grandchildren. Joseph, William, Hannah, Landon, Kailen, Andrew, Tyler, Daphne, Megan, Heather, Marlie, Ann Marie, John Riley, Bennett, Adeline, Jolie, Tenlie, Coralie, Loralei, Pyper, Ella, John Thomas, Katelyn and Tucker and three great grandchildren, Arianna, Mickey and Aubrey.

She was preceded in death by her father, Morton Douglas McDonald and a sister, Diane Domingue.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 16, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Welch officiating. Burial will follow at Stockton Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday, March 16, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until the 3:00 p.m. service at Norris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Bryant, Joe Cofer, Ron Taylor, Sonny Smith, Guy Crawford, Terrell Smith and Randy McDonald.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 2029 B Airport Blvd., Box 235, Mobile, AL 36606.
