Julius A. “July” Howell, age 76, born in Atmore, AL and a resident of the Phillipsville Community died Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at SAAD’s Hospice in Mobile. He was a retired mechanic with Chevron and then a self-employed logger.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Harbison Howell of Phillipsville; his children, Julie E. (Jimmie) Veal of Phillipsville, Jamie E. (Shana Hall) Howell of Phillipsville, Evan C. (Whitney) Howell of Huntsville, AL, Dr. Shelli (John McBay) Carter of Rosinton, AL and James Ethan Williams of Daphne, AL; two sisters, Evelyn Howell (Ray) Stanley of Senoia, GA and Bonnie Howell of Steinhatchee, FL; grandchildren, Julius Clark Holliway, Janna Claire Holliway, Sean Caleb Holliway, Cody A. Howell, Alexis Langham, Carter Howell, Remi Howell, Ozzy Howell, Cam Joiner, Cadyn Joiner and Merida Carter and great grandchildren, Ryder Langham and Gracie Langham.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius Elvin and Annie Mae Walker Howell and two sisters, Madeline Treadway and Patricia Lindsey.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 15, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Donald Roley officiating. Burial will follow at Hall’s Fork Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 15, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until the 3:00 p.m. service at Norris Funeral Home.
