Julian Sanford Little passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021 at the age of 86. After several months of declining health, Julian died peacefully and without pain.
Julian was born in Bay Minette, AL, to father Morgan Nolan Little and mother Lula Jones Little. The youngest of four brothers and five sisters, Julian didn’t have the opportunity for much formal education. He helped out with his brother’s businesses and worked any odd jobs he could find starting at an early age. His work ethic and strong desire to serve his country led him to enlist in the Army at the age of 19. He was stationed at Fort Benning, GA. He served during the Korean War and achieved the rank of Corporal prior to separation.
Upon returning from service, he met and fell for Jean Reid, who he would go on to marry in 1958. A year later, the newlyweds relocated to Mobile, AL. Julian began working at Marine Bulk Handling. He worked as a foreman for forty years.
One of Julian Little’s biggest accomplishments was being a father. He always wanted children and considered himself lucky enough to have three. His children, Curtis Julian Little, Barbara Luellen Little, and Thomas Barrett Little Carlson, claim that their father was responsible for making their childhoods practically perfect. His faith is God was a strong as an oak tree and his love for his family was as steady as the sun.
Julian Little is survived by his wife Jean Reid Little, his children Curtis Julian Little, Barbara Luellen Little, and Thomas Barrett Little Carlson; grandchildren Candace Lynn Moody, and Kyle Little; and two great grand-daughters Lily and Ella Moody.
No services for Mr. Little are planned at this time.
