Joyce Newton

Peggy Joyce Minor Newton, age 90, a native and resident of Bay Minette, AL died Monday, March 30, 2026 at Mobile Infirmary. She was a retired dental hygienist for Dr. W.J. Hooper.

She is survived by her son, Eddie (Christine) Newton of Bay Minette, AL; her daughter, Peggy Newton of Bay Minette, AL; a brother, Ronnie Minor of Pensacola, FL; two granddaughters, Nicole (Hayne) Dukes of Mobile, AL and Natasha (Kristopher) Banks of Bay Minette, AL and two great grandsons, Nicholas Banks and Douglas Banks both of Bay Minette, AL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George C. Newton; two sons, Guy C. Newton and Tracy E. Newton; one brother, Edward Minor; her father, Richard E. Minor; her mother, Pauline “Polly” Sanders and a sister-in-law, Zena Minor.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Sister Helen Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 2, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. service at Norris Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the North Baldwin Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 190, Bay Minette, AL 36507.
