John Burttrum “JB” Wilson, Jr., age 79, born in Frisco City, AL and a resident of Stockton, AL died Monday, March 24, 2025 at his daughter’s residence. He was the President of Well Safe.
He is survived by his children, Audra Wilson (Stan) Burgart of New Hampton, IA, Vicki Wilson (Michael) DeFee of Pine Grove and John Burttrum “Tripp” (Kelly) Wilson, III of Round Rock, TX; sisters, Bobbie N. Gibson, Lana B. Wilson and Kathy R. Brooks; grandchildren, Gerald Burgart, Justin Burgart, Jacob Burgart, Shawn (Abby) DeFee, Karla (Justin) Barlow and John Evan “Jed” DeFee and great grandchildren, Ruby Burgart, Isla Burgart, Jaxon DeFee and Brighton DeFee.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Reed Wilson; a grandson, Michael “Mikey” DeFee; siblings, Chon B. Wilson, Hollis E. Wilson, Dorris E. Wilson, Jennie M. Gibson and Nancy A. Wilson and a granddaughter-in-law, Andrea K. Shekleton Burgart.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 28, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Montgomery Hill Baptist Church with Reverend Barry Lee officiating, Burial will follow at Montgomery Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 28, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until the 3:00 p.m. service at Montgomery Hill Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Levi Melton, Rhett Smith, Sam Brantley, Jonathan Tomley, Jim Price and Terrell Smith. Alternate pallbearers will be Jed DeFee and Shawn DeFee.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
