John Jay "J.J." Blackmon

John Jay “J.J.” Blackmon, age 52, born in Mobile, AL and a resident of Stapleton, AL died Friday, April 26, 2024 at his residence. He was retired from the Construction Industry. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard.

He is survived by his mother, Beverly Sharpe Blackmon of Stapleton, AL; one brother, Jamie Zakary of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Lana Culliver of San Diego, CA and one niece and four nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, John Avery Blackmon and his father, Jerry M. Blackmon.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stapleton Baptist Church with Reverend Josh Vance officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday, April 29, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service at Stapleton Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Zakary, Marrs Zackary, Jim Smith and Brad Burks.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Stapleton Volunteer Fire Department.
