John William Durant, age 89, born in Bay Minette, AL and a resident of the Crossroads Community died Monday, October 28, 2024 at Thomas Hospital. He was a retired machine operator at International Paper. He also was retired from the U.S. Army National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, F. Janette Duck Durant of Crossroads; his children, Rhonda C. Durant of Crossroads, Melissa C. Cooper of Atmore, AL, E. David Overstreet of White House Fork, Monte (Tim) Quezada of Stapleton, AL, Derek Durant of Crossroads and Nick (Lona) Durant of Los Angeles, CA; six grandchildren, Tori Reed, Dallas Durant, Colton, Nina and Emma Quezada and Frances Rose Durant; numerous great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Morgan L. and Adies Davis Durant; three brothers, and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 1, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 1, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service at Norris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Derek Durant, David Overstreet, Nick Durant, Tim Quezada, Colton Quezada and Wade Richerson. Honorary pallbearer will be Kyle Jones.
