Jillian Boates Jones, age 43, of Stapleton, AL died Monday, February 8, 2021 at Mobile Infirmary. She was born on November 9, 1977 in Mason City, Iowa.
She held degrees from Troy State University and Grand Canyon University. She was employed for 17 years at Perdido School in Perdido, AL as the 5th grade science and math teacher, and then became the gifted education teacher. She was teacher of the year at Perdido School in 2011. Before that, she taught in Georgia.
Jill had a great love for her family, her students, and life in general. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her husband, Andy and daughter, Finley.
She is survived by her husband, Andy Jones; her daughter, Finley Jones; her mother, Sheyrl Boates; her brother, Trevor Boates and Kody Boates; and her sister, Alyssa Boates; along with her Perdido School family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dwight Boates.
A memorial service will be held Monday, February 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Elberta, AL.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made through the Andy and Jill Jones Transplant Fund for a scholarship to benefit Perdido School students.
