Jerry Akins, age 77, born in Pensacola, FL and a resident of Bay Minette, AL died Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Atmore Nursing Home. He was a retired welder at Thompson Tractor.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Kay Bubnick Akins of Bay Minette, AL; his children, Artie (Becky) Akins of Kennedy, AL, Christy (Darrel) Mosley of Bay Minette, AL and Misty (David) Styron of Bay Minette, AL; grandchildren, Joseph Lee (Amy) Akins of Sulligent, AL, Steven Ross Caraway of Pine Grove, Hali Nicole (Jon) Lynn of Stockton, AL, Allison Renee Akins of Rabun, Shae Vanhuss of LA, Devin (Coley) McGhee of McCullough, AL, Tommy Hodges of Vernon, AL, Marcia (Jesse) Sanskar of Vernon, AL and Rebecca (Tony) White of Bay Minette, AL; great grandchildren, Mia Akins, Sara Lynn, Brelynn Caraway, Samuel Joseph Miller and Steven William Livings.
He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Lawrence Akins and his siblings, Jack Akins, Bobby Perry, Joe Akins and Frances Perry.
Graveside services and burial will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 11:00 p.m. at Stockton Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Bubba Rolin officiating.
Pallbearers will be Gary Akins, Joseph Akins, Darrel Mosley, Artie Akins and Ross Caraway.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Shriner’s Transportation Fund.
