Jennifer Fetters Obituary

Jennifer Bush Fetters passed away at the age of 68 on November 22, 2024, at home after a twelve-year battle with Glioblastoma.

Jennifer was born on January 24,1956 in Corinth, MS, where she lived until the 11th grade. Her parents then moved to Starkville, MS where she graduated from Starkville Academy in 1974. She then attended Freed Hardeman University where she was a cheerleader and member of the Chapel Singers, an acapela singing group and where she met the love of her life, Bob. It was on a mission trip to Scotland that Bob proposed to her while flying over the Atlantic Ocean. They were married on August 28, 1977. She received her Masters Degree from Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL.

She taught elementary school for 25 years, including Teacher of the Year until she retired because of the cancer. Throughout her life, including the last 12 years in bad health, she was known for being sweet, encouraging and her great smile, her laughter and her positive attitude.

A loving wife and a devoted mother to her four boys, Jennifer lived a life filled with love, encouragement, and support for everyone around her. She was a steadfast Christian who held onto her faith until her final moments, serving as a guiding light and inspiration to all who knew her.

She leaves behind her husband, Bob, four sons--Charles, Christoper, Chadwick (Heloisa) and Curtis--and four grandchildren -- Chloe, Abigail, Simon, and Wesley.  She is also survived by her mother, Betty Bush, and brother, Kenny Bush (Cathy). She was predeceased by her father, Bobby Bush.

A special thank you from the family to Springhill Home Health & Hospice and to Christabelle Lynd for the love and care of Jennifer.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the 14th Street Church of Christ with Minister Robert "Bob" Fetters and Minister Jerry Childs officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service at 14th Street Church of Christ.
