Obituary
Jamie Leigh Overstreet Emmons, age 48, born in Bay Minette, AL and a resident of the Pine Grove Community died Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Thomas Hospital. She was a teacher at Bay Minette Elementary.
She is survived by her husband, James William “Bill” Emmons of Pine Grove; her children, Erin Elizabeth Emmons (Colin) Mims of Pine Grove, James Elijah “Eli” Emmons of Pine Grove, Eleesia Bryant Emmons of Pine Grove; her father, Mitchell Wayne Overstreet, Sr. of Pensacola, FL; one brother, Mitchel Wayne (Jennifer) Overstreet, Jr. of Pine Grove and one sister, Jodi Overstreet (Stan) Edwards of Birmingham, AL.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Melissa “Dollie” Knowles Overstreet.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Stapleton Baptist Church with Reverend Josh Vance officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Stapleton Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Butch Maddox, James Bass, Kelly Penny, David Powell, Keegan Homan and Brent Davison.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, P.O. Box 947765, Atlanta, GA 30394.
