James David "Jimmy" Richie

James David “Jimmy” Richie, age 73, born in Mobile, AL and a resident of Grand Bay, AL died Monday, February 10, 2020 at University Hospital in Augusta, GA. He was a retired school bus mechanic for the Baldwin County Board of Education. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #250 in Fowl River.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Harville Richie of Grand Bay, AL; four sons, Joshua (Joann) Richie of Mobile, AL, Jason David (Alicia) Richie of Creola, AL, Ryan (Pamela) Holmes of Coden, AL and Darren (Tasha) Pass of Springville, AL; two daughters, Tabatha (Jesse) Ross of Pascagoula, MS and Shawn Johnson of Springville, AL; four sisters Mary Owen of Foley, AL, Lucille (Pete) O’Dell of Grand Bay, AL, Bertha Cooley of Grand Bay, AL and Martha Roger Brewton of Creola, AL; seventeen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Columbus and Stella Weaver Richie; three brothers, Clarence Richie, Wade “Bo” Richie and Robert “Bobby” Richie and three sisters, Ruby Tousey, Jessie Philyaw and Carolyn Philphot.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Sister Helen Stewart and Reverend Randall Short officiating. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Alabama State Veterans Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday, February 17, 2020 from 5:00 pm. Until 9:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Home.
