On Sunday the 21st of May 2023 James “Bunny” Alvin Rabon passed away peacefully at the age of 94. James was born on 3rd of October 1928 in Butler County Alabama.
He is preceded in death by his wife Edith Laverne Cooper Rabon; parents George Madison Rabon and Margaret Alwilda Broughton Rabon; siblings George M. II, Johnny M., G. Lester, Jewell, Irene, and Lorene; son Stanley Wade Rabon.
He is survived by one sister Frances; children Mitzie Elmina Rabon Frazier (husband Wendall), Don Randall Rabon (wife Cindy), Jeffrey Brian Rabon: many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.
His dad died while James was young and at the age of 12 years he quit school so he go to work to provide for the family. He volunteered for the army in 1951 during the Korean War. Due to health conditions, he was unable to enter for battle. He remained stateside and was assigned to Battery B 711th AAA Gun Battalion and helped guard the northern border and Great Lakes region. After the war he returned home to work civil service at Brookley Field and then he retired and started his own business Rabon Construction.
James life will be honored and celebrated on Wednesday, the 24th of May 2023 at New Life Baptist Church. Visitation will be 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. The funeral will be at 12:00 noon. The burial service to follow at New Life Baptist Church Cemetery, with pallbearers Justin Rabon, Mickey Stewart, Mark Truhel, Cody Truhel, Dustin Truhel, Tristan Truhel, and Logan Truhel
