James Randall Penna, age 71, born in Trumann, AR and a resident of Sunset, LA died Saturday, May 11, 2024. He was a retired product engineer at Standard Furniture. James was a man of many talents with an engineering mind that could build or fix anything. He was also an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing most of all. He taught his grandchildren to fish and was happiest when spending time with them. James was most known for the way he loved his wife, Debbie, as well as his family. He leaves behind a legacy of humble service and dedication to his wife, children, and grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Brian (Kat) Penna of Louisiana; his daughter, Dana (Landon) Patterson of Louisiana; one brother, William (Karen) Penna of Mississippi and his grandchildren, Mary Kathryn Penna, Ellie Penna, Ephraim Patterson, Maggie Patterson and Banks Patterson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie McHalffey Penna and two brothers, Chris Penna and Buddy Penna.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until the 3:00 p.m. service at Norris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Spencer Owens, David Penna, Ephraim Patterson, Banks Patterson, Lance Ashlock, Brian Penna and Landon Patterson. Honorary pallbearers will be David Owens and Jeremy Taghizadeh.
