James Ernest “Poppy” Ellison, age 78, born in Milton, FL and a resident of Pensacola, FL died Monday, January 19, 2026. He was a retired fork lift driver for Louis Bear Company. He loved floundering and was a die-hard FSU fan.
He is survived by his children, Thomas A. Robinson of Pensacola, FL and Lorraine (Larry) Stanger of Keystone Heights, Fl; one sister, Linda Brewer of Milton, FL; six grandchildren, Keith (Patti) Simmons, Kyle Simmons, Preston Stanger, Victoria (Jason) Ehlers, Kyra (Aaron) Francois and Kayla (Jay) Lewis and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Clark Ellison.
Private family graveside services will be held at Bay Minette Cemetery.
