James Leroy Bliege, age 70, born in Sturgis, SD and a resident of Spearfish, SD died Friday, September 12, 2025 in Bay Minette, AL. He was a retired Gold Miner and Heavy Equipment Operator. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during Vietnam.
He is survived by two daughters, Kayla Kay (Thorneal Robinson, Sr.) Bliege of Bay Minette, AL and Caitlin Ann Mercy of Semmes, AL; two brothers, Dean (Pauletta) Bliege of Belle Fourche, SD and Bruce Bliege of Alaska; one sister, Ella Lettilier of Washington; his grandchildren, Alex, Nevaeh, Thorneal, Jr., Paige, Jaliah, Hunter and Jaslyn and his faithful companion, Buster Brown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Jane Pennfield Bliege and his siblings, Jerry Bliege, William Bliege, Annette Haven and Linda Bliege.
Inurnment will be in the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD at a later date.
