Ira W. “Buddy” Ezell, age 85 born in Buckatunna, Mississippi, a resident of Stapleton, Alabama passed away on Sunday June 11, 2023, at his residence.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lenda A. Ezell of Stapleton, Alabama; Two sons, Donald E. (Nancy) Ezell of Turnerville, Alabama and Ira Kenneth Ezell of Saraland, Alabama; One sister, Dorothy Pauline Cochran of Eight Mile, Alabama; Three Grandchildren, Brandon (Lee) Ezell of Satsuma, Alabama; Luke (Brittany) Smith of White House Fork, Alabama and Ashton N. Smith of Stapleton, Alabama; Four Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis W. and Lora G.Cooley Ezell; A son, Danny Ezell; His brothers and sisters, Edna Ezell, Elbert Ezell, Ruth Chestang, Robert Ezell, Anne Hudson, Vivian Chestang, and James W. Ezell.
He retired from International Paper Company after forty years of service, and was a member of the Bay Minette Masonic Lodge 498 and the Abba Shrine Center.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Stapleton Church of God with Reverend J.P. Lambert and Reverend Channing Walley officiating. Burial will follow at White House Fork Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. till 2:00 p.m. at Stapleton Church of God.
Pallbearers will be Channing Walley, Luke Smith, Bobo Hession, Eddie Chestang, Wayne Chestang and Brandon Ezell.
