Huey Wayne Byrd

Huey Wayne Byrd, age 68, a native and resident of Stapleton, AL died Sunday, June 20, 2021 at North Baldwin Infirmary. He was a self-employed sheetrock finisher and appliance repairman.

He is survived by his wife, Ella E. Cartwright Byrd of Stapleton, AL; his children, Gloria (James) Roberson of Foley, AL, Marie (Jeff) Fuller of Pensacola, FL, Amanda (Joey Grice) Sapp of Pensacola, FL and Tanya (Britt) Hartley of Daphne, AL; seven brothers, Tom Byrd, of Stapleton, AL, Winfred Byrd of Stapleton, AL, Vonnie Ray Byrd of Stapleton, AL, Carl Byrd of Robertsdale, AL, Vermon Byrd of Stapleton, AL, Gwyn Byrd of Stapleton, AL and Scottie Byrd of Stapleton, AL; five sisters, Levenia Gordon of Stapleton, AL, Lator Bowen of Summerdale, AL, Eulene Davis of Bay Minette, AL, Eleanor Woldridge of Gulf Shores, AL and Shelia Rolin of Stapleton, AL; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Laman and Evie Lucille McQueen Byrd; three sisters, Linnie Booker, Jeanette Bass ad Carolyn Shimpf and a son, Johnny Lewis Cloud.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Elder Gwyn Byrd officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Rolin, Jim Byrd, Vermon Byrd, II, Eddie Dean, Shane Byrd, Woody Walker, Tommy Bass and Seth Williams. Alternate pallbearer will be Austin Dean.
