Helen (Corley) Overstreet

Helen Corley Overstreet, age 98, a native and lifelong resident of Bay Minette, AL. went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 13, 2025.

She is survived by her children, William Leon (Barbara Jean) Overstreet, Barbara Faye Paul, Mitchell Wayne Overstreet and Claude Sherman (Alma) Overstreet all of Bay Minette, AL. She leaves behind fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren and a sister, Ruth Barac.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Myrtle Corley; her husband, Sherman Overstreet; her daughter, Ophelia Mullek and siblings, Horace Corley, James Corley, Clarence Corley, Jesse Corley, Roy Corley, Crystal Corley and Lucile Corley.

Helen loved her family and church family deeply. She continued quilting with her church’s quilting circle until the age of 94 and was well known for her delicious coconut and carrot cakes. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pine Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Bedford officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 15, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service at Pine Grove Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Pine Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 42240 Pine Grove Road, Bay Minette, AL 36507.

The family would like to express their heartful appreciation to Southern Care Hospice, Mary White, RN, who loved and cared for Helen as family and to Lakeisha Brown, CNA, for her gentle and compassionate care.
