Harry Nelson Bryant was born on November 30, 1939 in Stockton, Alabama and closed his eyes to his new home on December 2, 2024.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Julia Bryant, of 34 years; his only living sibling, Margaret Alice Logan his children: Donna Robinson, Rachell Owens, Kimberly Berry, Nicole Cuneo (Jacques) and Jamey Bullin, son in law, Michael Allen; eleven grandchildren: Beaux, Shea, Tara, Josey, Wyatt, Nicholas, Courtney, Jesse, Nathan, Nolan and Carley; and sixteen great grandchildren. His nephew, Bill Bryant (Lisa) was by his side for many years, he was like his son and he so cherished their relationship.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Beaulah Nelson and Julius Lee Bryant, Sr. and two brothers: Julius Lee, Jr., Kenneth Eugene Bryant and daughter Karen Allen.
His career was filled by his passion of cattle; d/b/a HB Farms, stock contractor and producer of rodeos as HB Rodeo Co., and manager of both Brewton and Robertsdale Livestock Auctions. He received numerous awards over the years in the rodeo circuit: Stock Contractor of the Year, Bucking Bull of the Year, Best Rodeo of the year just to name a few. In the cattle arena Harry was recognized as Cattleman of the Year by the Cattleman’s Association and received the Pioneer Award.
Harry had many friends; some have been so for his lifetime. The years he spent as manager of two stockyards, were some of the most enjoyable times of his career. He loved the Robertsdale Stockyard and the Rodeo world; he cherished the many people he met and spent most of his days with. Not only did he have many friends he was a mentor to so many young boys into their adulthood teaching them the trade of cattle farming or rodeoing. Harry just got in your heart and you just fell in love with him. You wanted to help him even if it meant dirty work feeding cattle or opening gates at a rodeo.
He prided himself with a good herd of bucking stock and loved nothing more than throwing the best bull riders off before that 8 second buzzer sounded. As he closed out his years of producing rodeos, he concentrated again on his cattle farm. He purchased the farm in Lottie. His dream was to have a cattle operation where the pens were all laid out and gates would swing both ways, so he could move cattle effortless as they came in and out of his feeding program. He lived his dream and took his last breath gazing out the window at the field.
Most people would describe Harry to be a true country gentleman. He was easy going; buying and selling cattle was his livelihood and his life. Rain, sleet, snow it didn’t matter; he would tell you his cows have to be fed.
Harry trusted the Lord and believed on his word and lived knowing God had him in his arms.
