Gregory Alan Wood

Gregory Alan Wood, age 61, of Perdido, Alabama, passed away on March 1, 2026. Greg lived a life marked by strength, independence, and a deep sense of purpose. A businessman, law enforcement officer, retired military serviceman, and bail bondsman, he dedicated much of his life to serving and protecting others, always approaching his work with intensity and determination.

He was a man who believed in doing things the right way—his way—and took pride in his work, his values, and his independence. A strong supporter of the Second Amendment and a self-described perfectionist, Greg held firm in what he believed and stood by it unapologetically.

Outside of his work, Greg found joy in life’s simple but meaningful pleasures. He loved yard work, car shows, baseball, rodeo events, and preparing for whatever life might bring. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and spending time with his dogs, who were a constant source of companionship and loyalty. He was always finding something to add, fix, or improve in his yard—never quite finished, always working to make it just right, and more often than not, doing it his own way. His beloved dogs—Zeus, Apollo, Ranger, Annabel, and Rose—held a special place in his heart.

Greg was known for being rough around the edges, but those who knew him best understood that beneath that exterior was a man who showed love through action. He was a fixer—someone who stepped in, handled what needed to be done, and took care of things in his own way.

He leaves behind a legacy of resilience, strength, and unwavering character. Greg will be remembered for the life he lived on his own terms and the impact he made on those around him.

He will be deeply missed.
